Pros and cons of Prince of Persia® Classic app for iPhone and iPad

Prince of Persia® Classic app good for

Just like the original but with a new and nicer look! The levels are even the same from what I remember. The movements transition much better as well. Right now my favorite game in my phone!
This app is awesome, but the only thing is it crashes a lot. Please fix this and it will be a five star app.
Really nice if you have all ready play the hold prince of percia
Coming from a guy who loved the original, its worth the bucks. I just finished it, cant beat it within the hour with no deaths, but Ill keep trying. If you played the original, you have to give it another go today.
Gud game overall. But the controls keep changing back (slider) when i continue my game. Overall a nice game. Very much like the original. Hope the map was a bit more helpful.
The controls for any d-pad remake on the iPhone just never seem to work out, but this is among the better attempts. Fun to play, but doesnt even come close to the SNES remake. Some game changes, like diving-rolls and slightly improved climbing, are welcome. Others, like the new fighting system, kind of blow.

Some bad moments

This was described as the original in HD, but it isnt. The physics of movement in the original was much better. And all the annoying "achievement unlocked" messages that accompany modern gaming add absolutely nothing. The main problem is just that a touch device doesnt work for a keyboard-based game. It wont give you excited nostalgia. It will just disappoint.
Only three levels in, but the controls are finicky and oddly timed. Sometimes the character will jump instantly into action (of a ledge), but occasionally will stop to consider things (while someone swings a sword at his head). Just a hunch, but it feels like the animations are too long, and prevent you from tacking a different action while they play out. Also somewhat annoying, the sound for a fall to the death plays every time you jump a significant distance. The levels thus far are mildly entertaining, but Im not blown away. There is no real puzzle solving and even without the timing issues, the gameplay is tepid at best. The are two types of challenging: the kind that demands excellent timing and perfect control and the kind that requires you to master imperfect controlls to accomplish otherwise simple tasks. This feels much more like the later. Edit: Just a little further in and the control issues have gone from finicky to terrible. Its like being asked to thread a needle with a mooring rope. Also, keep in mind, the game first prompts you to rate it after the first level. Anyone giving it high marks at that point is likely to be less impressed a level or two further in. /edit Id hope for better from UbiSoft, but this feels like a weak effort to snag a quick $2 from me. My advice wait for some improvements to be made or find something better.
The game itself is good however, it has tech problems. It will restart the level, sometimes after a level is cleared it will send you a level back as appose to the next, and the main problem i have right now is that the game shots off within 20 seconds or less of game play and closes its screen!
Stupid controls but pretty decent gameplay and graphics i guess
I just finished the first level. Good stuff. Im a huge fan of the original. If your a fan, get it.
Because if you do you wont be able to play. Control are terrible, you basically cant play with that. Animation looks disgusting too, even in 1st game it was better. Return my money!
